Home

We are the local brass band for Elstree and Borehamwood. In brass band terms, we are a non-contesting band, certainly for the time being, which means our Friday night rehearsals are relatively relaxed and sociable. We prefer to provide music for local events and good causes, keep live music going in the town and enjoy ourselves at the same time.

Our repertoire covers the brass band classics and light music of all kinds. We believe in keeping traditional brass band music alive. Our musical library contains a huge choice of popular and less known pieces for performances, and solo pieces to show off the talent in our midst.

Our band is part of life in the town. We have a close relationship with the EB Town Council and appear at their public events – interesting, colourful events that take place around the town, for example, the Anniversary of Borehamwood Railway Station.

We have links with many organisations in the Town, Twin Town society, Rotary Clubs, Churches and Charities.

Very important to us and our history, is our relationship with the Town Band in Borehamwood’s twin town, Offenberg and the Offenburg Fire Service Band. Every few years we get invited to join their wine festival in Germany. Stories of those trips are fondly remembered.

Most of us are local to Elstree and Borehamwood or not too far away, and our players start at about 12 years old, (usually with parents) to more mature members.  We rehearse on Friday nights in Borehamwood.

People book us for events and our calendar is very busy during the summer and Christmas season.

Look out for our free concerts with guest bands in Meadow Park.

Join the band

If you are interested in joining the band, new members are always very welcome. We rehearse on Friday nights in Borehamwood, please contact our secretary to check the time and venue.

Book the Band

As well as formal concerts, we play for other events in and around our community of Borehamwood.

We like to support good causes in the area as much as we can, so we perform at fetes and fundraising concerts to help local charities.

The band has sometimes provided music for private parties and care homes.

We play a broad range of music, from the traditional brass band repertoire, hymns and Christmas carols, to popular classics and themes from films and TV.

If you would like to book the band, there will be a fee, depending upon the nature of the event and the number of players it needs.

Please contact our secretary for more details.
